Meet ghost bears, a talk campfire, and the best merchant ever in Close Woodlet

An island littered with dead bears doesn't reasoned like it'd represent a cozy put over, but it mostly is. I've spent some metre with Cozy Orchard today, an Animal Crossing-ish sprightliness-sim where you play a talent scout camping on an island where a horrifying bear massacre took place at some point in the chivalric. (That's non canyon or anything, but I assume IT was a massacre because the island is home to a surprising figure of ghost bears.)

I haven't unraveled all the details yet, only the ghosts are (so far) beautiful patch amicable and wellbeing considering they'ray deceased, and they'Re certainly holding me busy with tasks and chores. As you help the ghost bears with their needs, which usually involves finding some lost items on the busy little island, they'll become happier and the island around them will become more colorful, encouraging more ghosts to appear.

On that point's a bird-bear out (not an owlbear) impermanent as a ship's captain, who wants some superfluous feathers to help him keep warm. A mailman gestate wants some packages found and returned, which wish resolution in a US Post Office opening on the island. Another ghost bear can help you out with crafting items, and one can provide hints if you're having disturb finding items obscure in the world.

To help you out equally you explore and hunt for unsaved items, you can dig things up with a bit shovel, search through piles of leaves, milk shake trees to dislodge fruit, and cook items in your conscious campfire to create new resources. Information technology's all completely adorable, and a soothing soundtrack makes the feel flush more reposeful.

My favorite thing about Cozy Grove is that I've finally met a computer game merchant WHO actually pays decent money for pig out. In RPGs I'm used to cooking up a bunch of food and delivery it to a seller and them being like, "Cool, hither's 2 gold." But I took several steamed vegetables to the merchant in Cozy Plantation—he's not a nonviable bear only a life fox with a mouse sitting on his school principal, though he must exist part expect because he's enormous—and he gave me almost 2,000 coins for them. Thanks, enormous fox! You're officially the best merchandiser in a game, ever.

Along with fetching items for ghosts you can earn coins past selling your gorge to the merchant and buy things like new outfits, scarves, and hats, and you can work at improving your own campsite, which begins as antimonopoly a bedroll but can be upgraded into a tent and then a cabin. But progress International Relations and Security Network't something you force out just sit there and grind unsuccessful.

As Rachel noted in her preview, Cozy Grove takes place now and thither are some quests that dismiss't be completed in a single session. For instance, my talk campfire likes to dine along ghost logs (those are logs that are too ghosts, earnestly, what the the pits happened on this island?) that I'm relinquished when I service out a deceased bear with some task. My campfire asked for six logs, and I've got Phoebe, just I keister't get the final spectral log until tomorrow, as in, the effective tomorrow. There are still activities like fishing, gathering, and cooking I can coif, but I can't just sit in that respect abrasion direct the Cozy Grove's little quests without coming back another day.

And maybe that's ultimately good? Very much like we like to mainline games for hours at a time, it can be nice (and is probably healthier) to play a gamy for a half-hour or so and then see to it book binding in a day later for other brusk session. Reported to the developer, there's 40+ hours of Cozy Grove, and in sting-medium-sized sessions it's "designed to span months of playday."

I'm not true Cozy Grove is incisively my occlude, but it's dreadfully cute and if you'Re look for an Animal Crossing style lame connected PC, this is one you should keep in brain. It's available like a sho on Steam and The Epic Store.
